Affiliate Disclosure

Affiliate link disclosure: This page contains affiliate links. If you buy through them, The Hair Roundup may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. We don't accept payment to feature products, and our picks stay narrower than the evidence. Learn more

The short version

As an Amazon Associate, The Hair Roundup earns from qualifying purchases. Some links on this site are affiliate links. If you click one and buy, we may earn a commission at no additional cost to you. This is how an independent, ad-light publication keeps the lights on.

How this affects what we recommend

It doesn't. We do not accept payment to feature, rank, or praise a product. We are not paid by any brand to include it, and a higher commission rate never moves a product up our list. Our picks are based on review data, published dermatology and cosmetic-science literature, and real forum discussion, and our copy stays narrower than that evidence.

Where you'll see disclosure on our pages

The U.S. Federal Trade Commission requires affiliate disclosures to appear close to the relevant link or claim, not buried in a footer. So you'll find disclosure in three places on any page that contains affiliate links:

  • At the top of the page: a clear disclosure above the fold, before any recommendation, like the box above.
  • Next to every comparison table: so the disclosure travels with the recommendation, wherever you start reading.
  • Beside every "Buy on Amazon" and "Buy direct" button: each affiliate link is labelled "(Affiliate link)" right where you click it.

Amazon Associates

The Hair Roundup is a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to Amazon.com. As an Amazon Associate, we earn from qualifying purchases. Amazon and the Amazon logo are trademarks of Amazon.com, Inc. or its affiliates.

Other affiliate relationships

Where a product is also sold directly by its brand, we may link to that brand store through an affiliate or direct relationship as a second option. The same rule applies: it never changes whether (or how highly) we recommend a product.
